Travel Day 1. Botswana - Francistown
Our journey starts in Johannesburg. Here we load our truck and drive to the border of Zimbabwe. After a fairly long drive, we arrive in Francistown. The second-largest city in Botswana was the site of the first gold rush in Southern Africa. The situation is different nowadays in the city of Francistown. It's a modern African city that is home to many jazz clubs and casinos. Here an unforgettable night awaits.

Travel Day 2. Simbabwe - Hwange National Park
From Francistown we travel over the border into Zimbabwe. Here we enter the Hwange National Park, where we go on a game drive and see one of the largest elephant herds in Africa. The Hwange National Park, with its approximately 14 650 square kilometers is the largest in Zimbabwe, and features over 100 species of mammals and 400 species of birds a home.

Travel Day 3. Hwange National Park und Victoria Falls National Park
On our 3rd travel day, we have a morning game drive through the Hwange National Park. Afterwards, we drive north towards the Victoria Falls to experience this spectacular natural wonder. The locals describe the Victoria Falls as "thundering smoke" or Musi-O-Tunya. Dinner can be had at one of the many restaurants*.

Travel Day 4. Victoria Falls
Today, you can choose to do activites on your own. Below you will find just a few things that can be done in the vicinity of the Victoria Falls.

Travel Day 5. Zambia - Livingstone and Zambezi River
Today, we drive on the historic railway bridge at Victoria Falls. The bridge connects Zimbabwe to Zambia and has been operating since 1905. In Zambia, more passengers will be joining our group before we travel to our camp.

Travel Day 6. Lower Zambezi National Park - Canoe - Trip
In the early morning, we continue with canoes in the Lower Zambezi National Park. On our tour, we only take along the necessary equipment and set up our bush camp on an island. There we will be surrounded by animals, such as by hippos. Away from civilization, you can prepare yourself for a unique experience.

Travel Day 7. Lower Zambezi National Park
On the second day, we will be paddling downstream on the Zambezi River. You will be able to enjoy the beautiful marine and wildlife. If the water level is too high or the temperatures are too extreme, the trip will continue on a houseboat on Lake Kariba.

Travel Day 8. Zimbabwe - Chinhoyi Caves
In the morning, we will travel back from the Lower Zambezi National Park to get back to the truck. From there, we cross the Chirundu border (which can be a time consuming process) into Zimbabwe. After a short drive we will have reached the Chinhoyi Caves - the largest publicly accessible cave system in Zimbabwe.

Travel Day 9. Harare und Chimanimani National Park
From Chinhoyi, we continue to the capital of Zimbabwe - Harare. We will have lunch, take time for shopping and explore the city. Despite a host of negative press, it is secure and modern capital. We leave Harare towards the Eastern Highlands and the Chimanimani National Park. The mountain, which separates Zimbabwe from Mozambique, is ideal for casual hiking in a spectacular landscape. If there is time, you will also be seeing the famous Bridal Veil Falls.

Travel Day 10. Chirnida Forest
Today, you can either have a walk in the Chimanimani National Park or take a day trip to the Chirinda forest in Zimbabwe. The southern rain forest in Africa, home to some of the spectacular large mahogany trees.

Travel Day 11. Great Zimbabwe Ruins
During our tour, we will visit the world famous Great Zimbabwe ruins. These well-preserved ruins were built around the 11th Century without mortar. The up to 5 meter high walls are a source of much speculation and disagreement over the years. This area was the home of 8-carved birds, which can be found on the national flag of Zimbabwe.

Travel Day 12. Gweru and Antelope Park
This morning, we travel to the Antelope Park in Gweru, where we visit the African Lion Environmental Research Trust and the world's first lion rehabilitation & release program. Upon arrival, we can relax for the first time before you can participate in one of the optional activities offered. In addition to the Lion program, there are also elephant riding sessions, canoeing, fishing and a marketplace where crafts are sold.

Travel Day 13. Gweru and Antelope Park
On the second day at the Antelope Park, we will enjoy the wildlife that can be seen here on a game drive. In the afternoon, we will hike and visit the lions, that are a part of the rehabilitation and release program.

Travel Day 14.Matobo National Park and Bulawayo
Today, we continue our journey to Bulawayo and the Matobo National Park where we visit the grave of Cecil John Rhodes, who played a significant role in the history of Zimbabwe. At the Matobo National Park, we embark on a game drive, where a breeding program for white rhinos is located. For dinner, you will find a variety of restaurants in Bulawayo.

Travel Day 15. Südafrika - Bulawayo nach Musina
Today, we visit the Historical Museum Bulawayo, before we leave the city towards South Africa. In Buitbridge, we will cross the border. In Musina, just across the border in South Africa, we set up camp for the night.

Travel Day 16. Johannesburg
This morning we drive to Johannesburg, the city of gold. In Johannesburg, the tour will come to the end. Many of our groups spent the last evening together at a local restaurant*.
