Travel Day 1. Zambia - Livingstone and Zambezi River
On the first day, the day starts early from Livingstone, where we drive over the historic railway bridge at the Victoria Falls. The bridge connects Zimbabwe and Zambia and has been operating since 1905. In Zambia, more passengers will be joining our group before we get to travel a long distance to our camp.

Travel Day 2. Lower Zambezi National Park
In the early morning, we travel in canoes in the Lower Zambezi National Park. On this day, we only take a small part of the necessary equipment along and set up our bush camp on an island. There, we are surrounded by animals including hippos. Away from civilization, you can prepare yourself for a truely unique experience.

Travel Day 3. Lower Zambezi National Park
On the second day on the Zambezi River, we will paddle downstream. Here you can enjoy the beautiful scenery and bird life. If the water level is too high or the temperatures are too extreme, the trip will continue on a houseboat on Lake Kariba.

Travel Day 4. Zimbabwe - Chinhoyi Caves
In the morning on the 4th travel day, we travel from the Lower Zambezi National Park back to the truck. From there, we cross the Chirundu border (this can be a time consuming process) to Zimbabwe. After a short drive, we reach the Chinhoyi Caves - the largest publicly accessible cave system in Zimbabwe.

Travel Day 5. Harare and Chimanimani National Park
From Chinhoyi, we travel to the capital of Zimbabwe, Harare. There we will have lunch, have time for shopping and explore the city. Despite a host of negative press, you will be impressed by this secure and modern capital. We leave Harare towards the Eastern Highlands towards the Chimanimani National Park. The mountain, which separates Zimbabwe from Mozambique, is ideal for light hiking. Time permitting, we can also visit the famous Bridal Veil Falls during the afternoon.

Travel Day 6. Chirinda Forest
Today, you can either use the day for walking in the Chimanimani National Park or take a day trip into the Chirinda forest of Zimbabwe. This is the southern rain forest in Africa, home to some of the most spectacular large mahogany trees. After the hike to the "big giants", you can treat yourself to a picnic!

Travel Day 7. Great Zimbabwe Ruins
During our tour, we will visit also the world famous Great Zimbabwe Ruins. The still well-preserved ruins built around the 11th Century without mortar. The to 5 meter high walls are a source of much speculation and disagreement over the years. This place was the home of 8-carved birds, which you will also find on the national flag of Zimbabwe.

Travel Day 8. Gweru and Antilope Park
This morning, we travel to the Antelope Park in Gweru, where we will also see the African Lion Environmental Research Trust and the world's first lion rehabilitation & release program. Upon arrival, we can relax for the first time before, you can participate in one of the optional activities offered. In addition to the Lion program, you can try out elephant riding, canoeing and fishing. You will also find a marketplace where local crafts are being sold.

Travel Day 9. Gweru and Antilope Park
On the second day, we can enjoy a lot of what is offered at the Antelope Park. This is a great opportunity to spend a little time with Africa's wildlife. In the afternoon, we go on a hike that includes a visit to the lions, which are a part of the rehabilitation and release program.

Travel Day 10. Matobo National Park and Bulawayo
In 10th Travel Day, we continue our journey to Bulawayo and Matobo National Park where we visit the grave of Cecil John Rhodes, who played a significant role in the history of Zimbabwe. In Matobo National Park, we embark on a game drive, where we will also visit a great breeding program for white rhinos. For dinner, you will find a variety of restaurants in Bulawayo.

Travel Day 11. South Africa- Bulawayo towards Musina
Today we visit the Historical Museum of Bulawayo before we leave the city towards South Africa. In Buitbridge, we will cross the border which can take several hours. In Musina, just across the border in South Africa, we set up camp in for the night.

Travel Day 12. Johannesburg
This morning, we drive along the Great North Road to Johannesburg, the city of gold. In Johannesburg, the tour will come to its end. Many of our groups spent the last evening together at a local restaurant*.
